Show Attracks Tourists

The famous Enga Cultural Show continues to attract tourists and nearby provinces to participate and learn about the traditions of Enga Province.

The show, which took six months of preparations and planning, was opened by the Australian High Commissioner on Saturday August 11 and closed by Tourism Minister, Emil Tammur, on Sunday August 12.

Sand and Bark Exhibition Features in Cultural Show

An exhibition showcasing Engan and Australian Art was a feature of this year’s Enga Show staged over the weekend.
The exhibition is the first of its kind in the country featuring Enga’s leading sand painting artists alongside artwork created by Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.

The 2018 Enga Cultural Show had also announced the inaugural PNG Power-Australian Government "Sand and Bark" Take Anda Art Exhibition at the Take Anda Museum Gallery in Wabag. The Exhibition started on August 9 and ended today.

Salt trade at show.

The ancient Highlands Salt Trade Routes will be a featured at the 2018 24th Enga Cultural Show scheduled from the 10th to the 12th of August. The Show will showcase 40 cultural groups from various tribes in the province and 30 cultural groups from schools including colleges established in the province.
